summary: A deeply red-skinned, medium sized, fresh-eating dessert apple
identification: Medium to large size. Round, marked with slight ribbing. The base colour is pale green over which is a maroon striping on the sun-exposed face. Only slightly russeted. An abundance of light-coloured lenticels can be seen against the colouration. The eye is small and closed, set in an open and lightly puckered basin. The stem is long and somewhat slender, set in a funnel shaped cavity.
characteristics: The flesh is crisp and cream-coloured. Juicy. Keeps five months in cold storage.
origins: A chance seedling, possibly a Granny Smith pollinated by either Jonathan or Rokewood. Found growing on Arthur William's Boronia Farm near Donnybrook in Western Australia, in 1935. Introduced commercially in 1968.
cultivation: Moderately vigorous. Precocious. Needs long summers to fully mature.
harvest: Ready for harvest starting in late season.
