identification: Medium tending to small, oblate. The skin is glossy,green? yellow which is almost entirely covered with bright red and marked with broken streaks of darker red. The shaded areas are yellow streaked wtih light red. The stalk is short and set in a wide cavity.
characteristics: The flesh is yellow, firm, crisp, very juicy and brisk. Very refreshing and pleasantly flavoured.
uses: A summer dessert apple.
origins: Scotland 1831
cultivation: Vigorous, spreading tree. Bears fruit on spurs. Ready for harvest by the start of the first period.
