summary: A flavourful Swiss dessert apple developed in the early 2000s. Besides its fine flavours and juiciness, the cultivar is resistant to scab and tolerant of fire blight.
identification: Medium size. Round conic tending to oblong with moderate crowning around the calyx basin. The base color is greenish-yellow which is washed bright red and marked with faded striping. The stem is medium long, moderately stout and clubbed, set in a medium deep and medium wide cavity. Some russet may occur at the stem cavity but will not typically extend onto the shoulder. The calyx is small to medium size and closed, set in a medium deep and wide basin. Lightly crowned around the calyx basin.
characteristics: The flesh is yellowish, firm, fine-grained. Very juicy and sweet with flavours of peach and lychee.
origins: Developed as part of the Agroscope breeding programme in 1999 at Wädenswil (Switzerland) by crossing

cultivation: Moderately vigorous, upright spreading. Tends to produce fruit in clusters of up to three apples. The tree has a slight tendency to bear biennial fruit but this can be overcome with trimming at fruit set.
cold storage: Keeps up to three months in naturally cold storage, five months in controlled atmosphere, refrigerated storage.
vulnerabilities: Resistant to scab. Slight susceptibility to powdery mildew and fire blight.
harvest: Late in the fourth period. Usually requires two pickings about a week to ten days apart.
