characteristics: The flesh is cream coloured. Sweet sharp, aromatic and flavourful.
origins: Reinette Rouge Étoilée crossed with Cox’s Orange Pippin in 1935 at Institut Voor de Veredeling van Tuinbouwgewassen, Wageningen, Netherlands. Introduced in 1952.
cultivation: Moderately vigorous, spur bearer. Requires eight to 10 years before it starts to fruit on its own roots.
