identification: Large, conical and five sided. Narrows abruptly near the crown to form a waist. The crown is prominently ridged. the skin is dull green yellow over which are broken red stripes. the stalk is medium length, slender and set in a deep cavity.
characteristics: The flesh is firm, crisp, juicy and brisk. Keeps two months in storage.
uses: A cooking apple.
origins: grown about Maidstone and Sevenoaks
ploidism: Self sterile.
