identification: Medium size, round tending to conic. The base colour is yellowish, flushed bronze on the sun exposed face and marked with scattered light coloured lenticels. The stem is slender and somewhat long, set in a shallow cavity. The calyx is large and sometimes open.
characteristics: The flesh is cream-coloured. Somewhat juicy, sweet.
origins: Thought to have originated as a seedling apple in the Roan Highlands of Carter County in northeastern Tennessee (U.S.A.). Last surviving tree was found by apple historian Tom Brown of Clemmens, North Carolina.
ploidism: Diploid. Self sterile.
