summary: Sweet cider apple
identification: Small. Round, often with angular sides. Matures to a rich golden-yellow with a deep red wash on the sun-exposed face, covering from one third to three quarters of the surface. Sparsely marked with dark lenticels which are most apparent against the base colour. The calyx small and tightly closed, set in a very shallow, lightly-puckered basin. The stem is moderately short and stout, set in a narrow and deep cavity.
characteristics: sometime a vague fennel fragrance.
origins: An old English apple variety, possibly from Devon or Cornwall, possibly a cider apple variety
harvest: In the first half of the fourth period.
