identification: Medium size. Round and flattened. The skin colour is greenish yellow over which is a bright red blush covering the sun exposed surface and striped darker red. Only vague or no stripes on the shaded surface. The calyx is small and partly open, set in a narrow basin surrounded by an even crown. The stem is moderately thick and short, set in a funnel shaped cavity which is russetted with rays extending over the shoulder, sometimes onto the face.
characteristics: The flesh is white, coarse-grained. Juicy, slightly sweet and somewhat sharp, balsam taste.
