identification: Medium size fruit. Round flattened. The skin is thin, slightly greasy and glossy. Yellow base colour over which is a reddish pink blush covering the sun-exposed face.
characteristics: The flesh cream-coloured, fine-grained is sweet-tart and fragrant.
uses: Intended as a fresh eating apple, but are also used for apple sauce and juice.
origins: Bred for genetic resistance to scab at the All-Russian Research Institute of Fruit Crop Breeding in Oryol, Russia, by crossing Antonovka with PRI 240-57. Introduced in 1989.
cultivation: Hardy. Spreading tree. Lends itself well to small garden cultivation.
cold storage: Keeps five months in cold storage.
vulnerabilities: Bred for scab resistance.
