identification: Large, red with darker strips and light coloured lenticels.
characteristics: Tender, juicy white flesh. Rich, and honey sweet with no hint of tartness. Keeps well.
uses: A good eating apple, also makes a naturally sweet apple sauce and dried apple rings are among the best.
origins: discovered in Ashe Co. as a wild seedling
ploidism: Self sterile.
