synonyms: Haggarston Pippin
identification: Small and round. The skin base colour is green, washed deep red on the sun explosed face and covered with patches of russet. The eye is small and set in a shallow, but narrow basin. The stem is short, slender and set in a shallow cavity. There is sometimes a fleshy swelling to one side of the stem.
characteristics: The flesh is ?????????????firm, crisp, sweet and well flavoured. Keeps five months in cold storage.
origins: Raised from a pip from an American apple planted in 1805 by ????? Haggerstone in Cambridge
cultivation: Moderately vigorous. Ready for harvest in the last half of the FOURTH period.
ploidism: Self sterile.
