summary: A columnar-growth eating apple developed in the Czech Republic.
identification: Medium to large, round to round conic. Smooth skin, base colour greenish yellow at harvest, maturing to yellow in storage. No overcolour. Small, almost invisible lenticels. Stem is short and stout, set in a funnel-shaped cavity which may have some russet. The calyx is set in a smooth and shallow basin.
characteristics: Flesh is pale yellow. Firm, crisp. Good balance between sweet and tangy. Aromatic.
origins: Developed by Dr. Jaroslav Tupý at the Institute of Experimental Botany in Prague (Czech Republic) in 1998 by crossing UEB 3138/1 with Bohemia. Selected in 2003.
cultivation: Moderately vigorous. Spur bearer. Compact columnar growth. Fruit set needs to be thinned after bloom after in order to produce annually.
cold storage: Keeps four months in storage.
vulnerabilities: Resistant to scab, tolerant of powdery mildew.
harvest: Ready to be picked in the middle of the fifth period. Best quality about a month after harvest.
