identification: Medium to large, round. The skin is thin and greenish yellow maturing to pale yellow. Russeted lenticels are sparse but rough and proturding.
characteristics: The flesh is yellow, firm and juice with good aromatics. Very sweet, virtually no acid. Keeps two months in cold storage.
uses: Also used for cider.
origins: It originated in Connecticut and documented in 1832, but details of its origin are unknown. It was once quite popular in the South and widely sold by Southern nurseries
cultivation: Vigorous. Precocious. Ready for harvest starting in the THIRD period.
vulnerabilities: Somewhat susceptible to blight and rust
