identification: Large, round conic. The base colour is yellowish green, flushed red on two thirds of the surface and marked with darker red stripes. The calyx is large and partly open, set in a medium deep and narrow basin which is puckered and often surrounded by a moderately knobbed crown. The stem is medium stout and medium long, set in a medium deep and narrow, russetted cavity.

uses: Mostly used for cooking. The slices are juicy and soft, but hold their shape. Flavourful.
origins: First recorded in 1872 NFC Originated in the UK. Recorded in 1872. It was received the National Fruit Trials in 1979 from Norfolk.
