identification: Medium Round. Yellow background is blushed pale red and marked with stripes on the sun exposed face. The eye is medium size and partly open, set in a shallow and wide, puckered basin. The stem is short and slender, set in a narrow, deep and russeted cavity.
characteristics: The flesh is white, firm and crisp. Acid.
uses: Cooking. Makes a flavourful, fruity, sharp apple sauce.
origins: NFC Raised before 1904 by gardener Fiesser of Baden Baden, Germany. A open pollinated seedling of Bismarck.
