identification: Medium size, round conic. The base colour is yellow, washed bright red and lightly striped on the shaded face. The stem is short and somewhat slender, set in a wide and deep, russetted cavity.
characteristics: The flesh is white. Somewhat juicy and sweet, sometimes slightly tart.
origins: A seedling of Shockley raised before 1873 in the garden of Major Mark A. Cooper in Glen Holly, Georgia (U.S.A.).
cold storage: Keeps up to seven months.
