identification: Medium to small, round conic. The base colour is pale yellow, washed cherry red and striped with darker red. Abundant beige lenticels. The stem is very short and very stout, set in a very shallow cavity. The eye is small, closed and set in a shallow basin.
characteristics: The flesh is cream colour. Juicy, sharp.

origins: A cross of John Standish and Cox's Orange Pippin created by E. J. Ingleby at Forest and Orchard Nurseries, Falfield, Gloucestershire (U.K.) in 1948. Introduced in 1957.
cultivation: Moderately vigorous. Produces heavy crops.
