identification: Medium, round, somewhat conic. The skin is smooth with a base coat of green maturing to yellowish, interspersed with crimson streaks on the sun exposed face. The stem is medium in length and set in a shallow, open cavity.
characteristics: The flesh has a greenish tinge, tender, crips, very juicy and aromatic. Sweet-sharp. Richly flavoured.
uses: This heritage apple was highly recommended for cooking and fresh eating.
origins: Believed to have been raised by nurseryman William Dredge of Wishford, Salisbury (U.K.). Described by William Forsyth in his "Treatise on the Culture and Management of Fruit Trees" published in 1810.
cultivation: Moderately vigorous, upright spreading spur bearer.
