identification: Large size and distinctly conic. smooth-skinned. The base colour is greenish yellow over which is an orange flush marked with a dense pattern of stripes.
characteristics: The flesh is pale greenish, Moderately coarse-grained. Sweet and aromatic.
origins: Hungary. Listed in 1875. Originated along the Tisza River and was widely grown for the markets through the 1800s.
cultivation: Moderately vigorous.
cold storage: Keeps up to three months in storage.
harvest: Ready for harvest starting in the first half of the fifth period.
