identification: Round-flattened tending to slightly conic, often irregular. The base colour is yellow, almost completely washed deep red and marked with whitish lenticels. The calyx is medium to small, set in a shallow basin. The stem is short and moderately stout, set in a wide and shallow cavity which is typically russetted.
characteristics: The flesh is white. Bitter.
origins: Originated in the Finistère region of western Brittany (France) in the mid-1800s. Described in the April 2, 1905 issue of the "L'Union Agricole et Maritime."
cultivation: Vigorous, round growth habit.
harvest: Ready for harvest in the middle of the fifth period.
juice character: Produces an astringent Brittany-style, rich amber cider.
