summary: A sweet and flavourful, fresh-eating apple bred from Cox's Orange Pippin in Britain during the 1930s.
identification: Medium size, round-conic. The base colour is yellow which is almost completely washed with bright red and marked with darker stripes.
characteristics: The flesh is cream coloured, crisp. Juicy, sweet-sharp, with honey flavours, sometimes cloying.
origins: Developed in 1939 from an open pollinated seedling of Cox's Orange Pippin by J.W, Carswell of Ashtead in Surrey (U.K.).
cultivation: Small, weakly vigorous, spreading spur bearer. Heavy crops.
cold storage: Keeps for up to two months in storage.
