identification: Medium size and round. The base colour is greenish yellow, washed wine red on the sun exposed face. Numerous small greenish lenticels. The eye is small and partly open, set in a medium deep and narrow basin which is surrounded by a knobbed crown. The stem is long and slender, reddish, and set in a medium deep and narrow cavity.
characteristics: The flesh is ?????????, crisp. Very acidic and somewhat astringent.
origins: A chance seedling discovered growing at Worcester, Cape of Good Hope (South Africa)
cultivation: Moderately vigorous. Low winter chill requirement. Mild winters are essential to this tree.
