Calville Blanc d’ete
synonyms: Calville Blanche d'ete, White Summer Calville, Calvante Blanc
identification: Medium size, round and flattened at the end. Pronounced ribs on the sides that extend to a ridged crown. The colour is a very pale yellow with a hint of a red blush on the sun exposed face. Sometimes lightly russeted. The stalk is short, stout and set in a shallow cavity which is lightly russeted.
characteristics: The flesh is white, tender, sweet and flavourful. Does not keep well in storage, becoming mealy soon after harvest.
cultivation: Virgorous, spreading tree. Bears good crops on an annual basis.
ploidism: Self sterile.
