identification: Medium tending to large, Oblate to oblong. The base color is yellowish which is marked with a pattern of red striping over a pale red blush on the sun exposed face. The eye is partly open and medium size, set in a medium deep and narrow basin which is heavily puckered and sometimes surrounded by an irregular crown. The stem is short and slender, set in a very deep and narrow, irregularly shaped cavity which is usually russeted.
characteristics: The flesh is cream?coloured, coarse grained, soft. Juicy and sweet?sharp.
uses: A cooking apple which makes a tart, fruity sauce.
