summary: Though primarily a cider apple, this British apple is also used for cooking and makes superb apple dumplings.
identification: Medium tending to large. Oblong and irregular shape with distinctly angular faces. The base colour is light green to yellowish over which can be a thin network of russeting. Waxy. The stem is slender and long, set in a deep and narrow cavity which is russeted with rays extending out onto the shoulder. The calyx is open and moderately large, set in a shallow, puckered basin.
