identification: Medium size. Round conic. The skin is thin, base colour pale green which is extensively washed with a sold dark red. Usually covered with a heavy bloom.
characteristics: The flesh is white, firm, crisp and fine textured. Juicy, sprightly and aromatic. Keeps up to five months in cold storage.
uses: Mostly eaten fresh, but can be used for sauces and pies.
origins: Developed as O?294 by Don Blair and P???? Roy at the Federal Agriculture Research Station in Ottawa, Ontario (Canada) by crossing McIntosh and Fameuse. Released in 1973 by R.L. Granger.
