Foxwhelp
identification: Small, round tending to conic. Crowned. The skin is glossy, smooth and greenish yellow washed with dark mahogany on the sun-exposed face. On the shaded face there are broad streaks of crimson with some of the base colour also showing through. The eye is small and partly open, set in a shallow, flat basin. The stem is short and slender set in a shallow cavity.
characteristics: The flesh is yellowish. Presses out to a bitter and sharp juice, milder than the standard Foxwhelp and less sugar content.
cultivation: Vigorous, upright, hardy. Bears heavy crops.
