identification: Medium size, round to round conical and flat; faintly ribbed. Skin base colour is greenish maturing to yellow with a pink flush and broken red stripes on the sun exposed side. Patches of light coloured russet. Large ruseted lenticels. the eye is large and closed, set in a wide and shalow basin. The stem is short and somewhat stout, set in a narrow and deep cavity which is russeted with rays extening over the shoulder.
characteristics: Cream coloured flesh. Fine testrued, firm. Somewhat juicy and sweet, very aromatic with intense flavour.
uses: Dessert apple
origins: Raised by Rev. C Sculthorpe at Beeley, Derbyshire (UK) c1880.
cultivation: Moderately vigorous spur bearer with a very strong inclination to spread.
