identification: Medium size tending to large, round with a ribbed body. Base colour is greenish yellow, over which is a reddish-brown blush on the sun-exposed face. Skin tends to develop a very greasy feel.

Lady Sudeley Lady Sudeley and
Beauty of Bath Bath. Developed prior to 1913 by the Laxton Brothers Nursery in Bath (U.K.).
cultivation: Vigorous, upright and spreading, spur bearer.
cold storage: Develops best flavours after a month in storage.
harvest: In the middle of the third period.
notes: A late-season culinary apple by the name Beauty of Bedford was shown at the 1883 Apple & Pear Conference in Chiswick (U.K.). But it was not the same apple and was ultimately discarded.
