Identification: Medium size. The shape is conical, somewhat heart shaped and the crown is irregularly knobbed. The skin colour is green, much like the Granny Smith.

Characteristics: The flesh is greenish, fine textured, firm, juicy, moderately sweet and sprightly. Aromatic.

Uses: Bred to be used as an eating apple.

Origins: This French- style Granny Smith was developed by the Inland Northwest Research Alliance (INRA) in Angers (France) by successive crosses of Clone 821 crab to Golden Delicious and Reinette du Mans (Reinette du Mans x (Golden Delicious x (Golden Delicious x F2 26829-2?2))) which was then used to pollinate Granny Smith. Released in 1988.

Cultivation: Vigorous, upright tending to spread somewhat as it matures. Produces good crops annually. Minimal pruning required to manage the tree.

Ploidism: Diploid. Self sterile.
