identification: Medum to large size, round with a hint of ribbing. Yellow base colour with reddish orange flush and broken stripes on the sun exposed side. Scattered russet patches. Prone to cracking around the eye basin.The eye is large and open, set in a wide and shallow basin which is lightly puckered and green around the eye. The stem is short and slender, set in a deep and narrow cavity which can be russeted with ray extend onto the shoulder
characteristics: The flesh is yellowish often with orange stains close to the skin. Firm and coarse?grained. Somewhat juicy and sweet with excellent flavour characteristic of its Cox parentage.

origins: Created in 1904 by W.H. Divers, head gardener at Belvoir Castle, Leicestershire, UK, by crossing a Barnack Beau with a Cox s Orange Pippin.
cultivation: Moderately vigorous, upright spreading. Partial tip bearer. Ready for harvest in the first half of the second period.
