Ball's Pippin

identification: Medium tending to large, round and flattened, sometimes conic. The base colour is greenish yellow over which are red stripes and patches of russet. The eye is small and closed, set in a open and shallow basin. The stem is long and slender, set in a somewhat dep and wide cavity which is usually russeted with rays extending up onto the shoulder.
characteristics: The flesh is white, crisp and juicy. Sweet sharp and aromatic. Keeps three months in cold storage.
