identification: Small to medium, Round. Greenish yellow washed red on the the sun exposed face and marked with fine, darker red striping. The eye is small and partly open, set in a shallow and wide, lightly ribbed basin. The stem is medium long and medium thick, set in a shallow and funnel shaped cavity. A few light coloured dots surround the cavity. Character of the
origins: An old cider apple found around Backwell Village, North Somerset (UK)
cultivation: Moderately vigorous, spreading tree. Some tendancy to produce every other year.
cold storage: Needs to be used soon after harvest.
harvest: Late in the fourth period. Holds well on tree when ripe.
notes: xxxx Considered vintage. Acidic and slightly Sharp, light, fruity, thin. T Medium sharp.
