summary: Somewhat larger than the standard ornamental crab apple tree, the Ames White produces showy, pink-stained white flowers, followed by a moderate amount of yellow fruit, about half the size of cherries. Not considered suitable for consumption.
origins: Developed in the late 1920s at the Iowa State College
cultivation: Upright/spreading growth habit, maturing at about eight metres high and almost as wide.
