type: Culinary, Dessert
identification: Small to medium size, round. Greenish yellow base colour almost entirely washed with bright red. Large, cream coloured lenticels and sometimes large, radiating patches of russet. The calyx is closed and moderate size, set in a shallow basin. The stem is medium length and somewhat stout, set in a funnel-shaped, russetted cavity.

uses: dessert
origins: A chance seedling found growing in the garden of Mrs D.M. Alford, of Bognor Regis, Sussex (U.K.). Presented for assessment by the National Fruit Trials in 1969.
cultivation: Moderately vigorous. Ready for harvest at the beginning of the first period.
cold storage: Does not store well.
