summary: Widely grown in south central Bulgaria in the 1950s.
identification: Medium size. Intermediate conic, often lopsided. The base colour is green over which is a light orange to brownish blush on the sun exposed face. Brownish lenticels are abundant in the blush but absent on the base colour. The eye is very small and tightly closed, set in a rather shallow basin. The stem is moderately long and slender in a deep and narrow cavity.
characteristics: The flesh is lightly green tinged. Coarse grained and crisp. Juicy and slightly sweet with a bit of tartness. The skin tends to be tough.
uses: Dessert apple.
origins: Origins unknown. Widely cultivated in the south-central region of Bulgaria during the mid 1900s.
cultivation: Moderately vigorous. Spur bearer. Biennial. Tolerant of hot summers and cold winters.
