identification: Large, round-conic. The base colour is yellow over which is a bright red wash on the sun exposed face. The stem cavity is usually russetted and flat, the stem itself is short and medium stout. The calyx is medium size and set in a flat basin.
characteristics: Very juicy and sweet with a slight acidity.
origins: Believed to have originated as a chance seedling in the vicinity of Tréméreuc in the Côtes-d'Armor region of Brittany (France).
