Synonyms: Garden Beauty

Identification: Large tending to very large. Round and slightly ribbed. The base colour is greenish yellow ripening to yellow often with a reddish blush on the sun-exposed face.

Characteristics: The flesh is yellowish, firm. Juicy and sweet-tart.

Uses: Intended for fresh eating but also favoured for apple sauce and dried apple slices.

Origins: And open-pollinated seedling of Antonovka developed in 1946 at the Polli Horticultural Institute (Estonia) under the direction of Professor Aleksander Siimon. Selected in 1945 and released in 1946.

Cultivation: Moderately vigorous. Precocious. Distinct tendency to biennial crops. Cold hardy.

Vulnerabilities: Resistant to powdery mildew. Low susceptibility to scab.
