origins: Named for an innkeeper Agathe Petersen at Agathenhof, Nordfriesland (Germany) who raised the apple from pips obtained from one of the travellers at her inn in the early 1900s.
cultivation: Moderately vigorous. Does well in rich moist soil. Well suited to espalier training.
