identification: Medium size, round conic, often somewhat distorted. The skin is smooth with a waxy feel. Base colour is yellowish green, over which is a red wash and a pattern of darker stripes. Often russetted in and around the stem cavity. The stem is long and moderately stout, set in a medium-deep cavity.
characteristics: The flesh is pale yellowish, tender but crunchy, very juicy and sweet. Flavourful.
origins: A chance seedling thought to have originated in the vicinity of the Square des Abbesses in the Montmartre area of Paris (France).
harvest: An early apple that ripens late in the third period.
