identification: Small, round oblate. The skin is pale greenish yellow with a fain orange blush on the sun exposed face and covered with a thin russet. The stem is short and slender, set in a shallow cavity.
characteristics: The flesh is yellowish, juicy, sweet and brisk with good aroma. Keeps two months in cold storage.
uses: Highly regarded as an eating apple in Victorian England.
origins: Raised by ??? Padley, gardener to King George III at Hampton Court.
